</->
A lot have been said and written about the obstacles to achieving all round success in Internet Business but this article is to submit additional five obstacles to the ones that had already been proferred by other authors.

A. Get Rich Quickly Syndrome
The major obstacle is the mad rush to get rich quickly without recourse to patience. Whatever business you find yourself requires hard work, capital and patience. No matter the promises made by an Internet venture, one still need to come on board with capital and time you can invest. But most people believe this money is there already to be collected with ease.
This is wrong, Internet Business is something that needs enough time and efforts to set in motion and once it starts nobody can stop it! Rome they say was not built in a day.

B. Inadequate Experience
Another obstacle is that most Internet business men and women do not have the requisite experience to successfully run an Internet business. Experience they say is the best teacher. Your ability to use a computer/laptop and browse the internet do not necessarily make you a guru in internet business.
Regardless of internet business experience you may have possessed before venturing into it, you still need to do alot of research on the business and carry out extensive plan. Above all, you need to be mentored by an expert in internet business to succeed in the business.

C. Inadequate Working Materials
No reasonable person goes to the farm without the needed working tools like cutlas, hoe, shovel etc to work when you get there. This is one of the obstacles to achieving success in internet business because alot of people enter into the business without the necessary tools. A would be internet business man or woman needs to equip himself or herself with a very good computer/laptop, internet connection and electricity supply. In the case of developing countries like Nigeria where the supply of electricity is epileptic, you need a good electricity generating set as a back-up in case of power failure. So these working tools are very critical to achieving success in internet business.

D. Information Overload
The Internet is the cheapest source of information and because of this, people send different kind of information to your mail bordering on internet business. The volume of information sent is so much that you may become confused and frusstrated even to the point of abandoning genuine ones that would have been of help to you. The best way to get quality information that would be relevant to you is to search reputable and well tested Forums relevant to your line of business instead of going through heaps of irrelevant information.

E. Prevalence of Fraudulent Internet People
The Internet is a breeding ground for Internet Fraudsters of different sizes and shapes. These set of people have succeeded in duping alot of people of their hard earned living thereby frusrating them out of internet business. The best approach to solving this problem is to stop believing everything you are told in the internet. Infact, skeptism should be your watchword. Seek expert advise from mentors on internet issues and above all run away from people that promised to make you become multi-millionaire overnight, they are fraudulent people.

So as stated on the opening paragraph, alot had already been said and written about this topic and that this one is additional five obstacles to achieving success in internet business that have not been said or written before.

Flipping websites is a business model that many online marketers use to generate quick cash. Frankly, it is not as easy as that may sound, but once you have worked out an established process for getting the site, establishing its value and marketing it in the right market, it can be a money maker.

This online business is not limited to flipping just websites. The business model can include selling blogs, Squidoo Lens and Hubpages. The upside of building a Squidoo Lens, Hubpage or say a Blogger Blog, is that the site can be built and sold with just the investment of time, with no cash out of pocket.

If the business model was to use WordPress.org as the site building tool, the cost can be kept to a minimum. The benefit is that the site can be built on a specific domain name and on hosting that you control. A site built for the price of a ten dollar domain name and a faction of a monthly hosting fee, then sold for $50, puts nearly 40 bucks in your pocket or Paypal account.

Building your own site and selling it is only one way online marketers use flipping as one of their multiple streams of income. Another method can be compared to the real estate investing strategy of “rehabbing” properties. In this case, the investor buys an existing site that has some established profit making history. After that the site is tweaked or rehabbed so it gets more traffic and/or converts sales better. Once a the statistics reflect the better profit performance, the site can be sold again for a profit, hopefully a large profit!

One of the trickiest things with flipping websites is determining the value of a site before you buy it or sell it. As with the flipping of domain names, there are services online that will provide you an estimated value report on the website. If expense is an issue, checkout a free service like www.dnscoop.com to help you determine a price for your site.

Another challenge in flipping websites is finding someone to buy it from you. Just starting out in this business model, the best and easiest way to both create interest and market your sites is on eBay. Once you have a value estimate for your site, set up an eBay auction with a minimum bid that assures profit and then see what happens. Once you establish a reputation for marketing quality sites, your auctions will be an ongoing source of revenue for your online business.

If your looking for longterm, consistent income, then maybe you should look into creating a bunch of niche websites.

Most of the work is done up front, and then you just add to it every little while. If you’re getting alot of traffic and/or sales, then you need to put all of your focus on that site to get what you can out of it.

Niche websites are little sites that you can setup using wordpress. Normally about 5-7 pages and promoting one product. They can bring you in a consistent income, sometimes for years! It all depends on how you tend to them through fresh incoming links and updated material. Some do nothing. Others do well. Your hope is that one (or more) does great!

Also, you need to “ping” after every post to your blogs, niche website, or even within your squidoo account. Pinging let’s search engines know that you have fresh content on the net. The spiders then come to crawl your site.

Google “ping” to find out more.

Using the free WordPress.org site means that you will need a host for your sites. There are a ton of hosts out there, but the host you want will support “Fantastico”. This enables you to upload your wordpress software at the click of a button.

A host will cost you about $10 a month. Your other expense will be for domain names. For one whole campaign, you’re looking at purchasing two domain names, one for your wordpress site and the other for your products affiliate link. This will cost you about $20 a year.

Before you read any further, let’s just find out if creating niche websites is for you!

Can you see yourself focusing on one subject for a week or two and then switching gears and throwing all your attention into a new subject?

If you think you can, then maybe this is for you. Alot of people can’t do this. They need something that they are passionate about and that’s it. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with that and actually I would advise you to search for topics that do interest you. Of course, you need to dig down deep into the subject to see if there actually is a market there.

Okay, let me give you a quick rundown on how creating niche websites work!

It’s as easy as going to Clickbank, (which is a place where you can promote other people’s products and get a percentage of the sale), searching and choosing a product to promote and then grabbing your hoplink(affiliate link). This link is one that you’ll want to purchase a domain name for. Once you get that domain name, you forward that hoplink to it, you can do this at the site where you purchase your domain name. Hoplinks are generally pretty long and ugly. You want to look professional, so make them nice and neat.

When choosing your product, stay away from fad products and don’t choose a product who’s gravity is sky high! Yes, it’s nice to know that affiliates are making some money off of the product, but that also means that the competion will be stiff.

We want to, kind of, fly under the radar. Also, before you grab your hoplink from the product your going to promote, go to google and type in “google keyword tool”.

Click on it, it’s free. Check to see if you can find some good longtail keywords for the product you’re looking to promote. We want keyword phrases that are RELEVANT to what you will be promoting. VERY RELEVANT!

Enter a broad keyword. look for keyword phrases that have about 1,000 to 1,500 monthly searches and low competition. Dig down deep, try to find about 5 or 6 really good longtail keywords.

Think about what you want your site to look like, as far as the pages go and what you’d like each to say. I say that because you’re site will be about 5 or 6 pages and each page will be optimized with one of those keywords. Title, first sentence of the first paragraph, the “about” page, and maybe 2 or 3 sprinkled throughout the rest of the page.

Now go grab your hoplink.

You’re going to be sending people to that hoplink(which has been forwarded to the purchased domain name, which, by the way, should also be relevant to your topic, having the keyword phrase in the name would be ideal) from your niche website.

You’re going to be sending people to your niche website from Squidoo via another domain name, this one being your niche website domain name. So, on Squidoo, you’re going to send people to the niche website using that domain. But, on your main website, you’re going to send people to the product sales page using the hoplink domain. Kapeesh? Did I even spell that right? Haha!

Google loves WordPress and Squidoo. This is why most ALL of your links will go straight to your Squidoo lenses first.

Do the same thing with your Squidoo campaign as you did with your niche website; create a lens for each longtail keyword.

Now start sending traffic to each lens. Take each keyword phrase and write articles around it, send the links to your Squidoo lens page and to your niche website page. create a blog or two and link to your lens page and your niche website page. Go to Wetpaint and set up a page, you probably can guess where I’m going to tell you to link to, haha!

The bottom line is this; pick some ways to generate traffic and let that become your routine. Soon, you’ll start pumping out these sites. Like I said before, some will stick and some won’t. Don’t fret over it. Just keep creating more and more.

Also, remember this; when one starts getting some good traffic or sales, stop everything else, go to that site and expand it. Do more articles, make more posts, post in more bookmarking sites, create some videos.

Oh and by the way, once you do start generating some steady cash flow; you can purchase some software and/or outsourcing to get these sites up even faster!

Work At Home Resources

Have fun with this!

To be successful with any home business there are certain traits that you must possess or acquire. Despite what many people will tell you, running a business from home is not necessarily easy, especially if you have other commitments such as family or another job.

There will be some sacrifices to be made and you may also find that other people tend to consider that because you are working at home it isn’t a ‘proper’ job and expect that you will drop work on your home business to suit their plans. So be prepared to take a stand; if you treat your home business seriously, others will be forced to do the same.

So what are the 7 essentials?

1. A burning desire – you need to have a clear picture in your mind of what you want to achieve, why you want to achieve it and in what time-frame. Your desire might be for yourself or your children, but it must be so strong that you are willing to get our of your comfort zone and make sacrifices to achieve it. If you keep doing what you are currently doing, then don’t expect any great change to occur. Visualize what your life would be like when you have achieved your goals, know that you have the ability to get there and don’t doubt.

2. Goals and plans – Once you know what you want to achieve, set goals to help you get there. A good guide for goal setting is to use SMART goals, meaning that they should be Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timely.

A SMART goal has a much better chance of being achieved than a vague one, so instead of saying you want to earn more money, you might say you want to earn an extra $50 per week by the end of six months. This is specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely (if it isn’t for you, then you would change the time, amount etc to something that was).

3. Self-discipline and routine – working at home means that you don’t have tasks allocated to you or a boss to check on your progress. You are now the boss and it is up to you to keep up with the schedule you have set. Make lists of what you want to achieve each week and each day. If it suits your situation, schedule certain tasks for certain times every day. This is the best way as it establishes a habit of doing these things at certain times; human nature being what it is, it is easier to attend to habitual tasks that it is new ones. As much as you possibly can, don’t let home life intrude on your work time.

4. Knowledge and time – you need to know some business essentials like registering a business, record keeping, any tax requirements and you need to understand how the Internet works, the different kind of Internet business you can have, how to register your domain name, how to get your work onto your web page, how to automate responses etc. If you don’t know all these things already, it will take you time to learn. If you can afford coaching or mentoring you can speed the learning process up.

5. Persistence – don’t give up! Most people fail with creating a home business because they don’t persevere when the going gets tough or when they meet opposition. You might get a lot of support from your family initially but when you are no longer available to them as you may have been before, they may complain and try to get your attention or time back. Keep the dream alive for all of you, remind them of the benefits down the track and ask for their assistance and patience until that time comes. If you can involve them is some way so they feel part of the venture, it can be rewarding to do so.

6. Enthusiasm – choosing to base your business about something you are passionate about will help you when the going gets tough; it is always easier to work on something you like. As you will probably already know, when you are enthusiastic about something, your enthusiasm shines through, whether you are speaking or writing and people are more responsive and this will help you have more success with your business. That said, you still need to make sure that your business will meet a genuine need in the marketplace or solve some problem that people have because there must be demand for your business product or service if you are to succeed.

7. Treat your home business with respect. Try to have set work hours as much as possible and make yourself unavailable to others during that time, just as you would if you were working for a boss. It often helps to dress in business clothes, especially when you go out in your home business “work” time. Learn to say “no” to outside demands on your set work time.

If you can follow all of these 7 strategies in setting up your online home business, you will give yourself a very good chance of being one of the successes.

There’s an almost infinite number of ways to make money online, and each one of them requires a different set of tools, knowledge and strategies to make them successful. But there is one fundamental thing that must be done before you take another step into the Internet wilderness – you must find a niche market to which to apply your time, effort and advertising dollars.

It’s incredibly easy to get distracted and confused. There is so much information and so many enticing promises crowding the virtual airwaves, most of it uploaded by people whose primary interest is in separating you from your money. They want you to hurry up and get that website up (just purchase their easy template program!), launch that blog (just a “pittance” a month for their consultation services!), sign up for their affiliate wares, buy their “get-it-for-a-steal” product that will automate everything for you, and once it’s all set up, which they assure you will take but a single enjoyable afternoon of your time, the money will start pouring in like a financial tsunami!

Well, dealing with information overload and hype is a topic for another article (or ten). Right now you need to be aware of a vital truth that gets lost in all the hoopla: until you have a product to market, a targeted group of people to market it to, and the knowledge of how to get these things, you will spin your wheels furiously and not move forward a single inch.
When you’re first starting out, it’s probably best to steer clear of the tough markets to break into, like IM. There’s money to be made there, no question, but the competition is cutthroat, and you might want to get your feet wet by concentrating on a niche that’s less saturated – specialty items, hobby stuff – doesn’t really matter what it is, you’ll probably find somebody somewhere wants to buy it. For all you know there’s a dedicated group of one-eyed, hermaphroditic underwater pole vaulters with shingles who get together once a month in Kissimmee to swap handmade dolls made from used dog beds. Bet they could use a good source of flea shampoo. Sell it to them! Find a starving niche, feed them, make a good income.

But a further recommendation is that you stick to those niches you have an interest in personally. It takes some dedicated forum hopping to get to know your target niche well enough to sell them what they really need and want; you have to get thoroughly inside their heads. If you couldn’t care less about the relative depths of the dimples on golf balls, you’re going to be bored witless trolling the forums that talk about nothing else. Why burn the little candle of your life illuminating some corner wherein you have no interest?

So how do you go about finding a “hot” niche that you can actually get excited about? It takes some research to be sure that, just because you’re passionate about something, there’s enough other people out there dying to spend money on it too. Or even that they have any money to spend.

Start with Clickbank. They have a huge selection of products that you can be promoting, and you know there’s already a demand for them. But you want to find the right products for you. Stay away from the products that have high gravities (“high gravity” means there’s already a ton of affiliates out there selling the stuff). The numbers you should look for vary among the experts, but a good range seems to be minimum 30, maximum 200. This means that it’s probably a niche with a demand but not too much competition.

Once you’ve found one you’d like to pursue, you’ll want to check how many people are actually searching for this niche on a monthly basis. Go to the sales page and make a list of the keywords that are being used for this niche. There are a number of keyword tracking tools available online – Wordtracker is a popular one. They have a great free trial version you can use until you’re ready to go pro. Alternatively, you can use Google’s keyword tool. Then, put the keywords in quotes and plug them into Google’s search engine. You’ll be able to see how many competing sites are already out there.

So here’s a little formula: (monthly searches/competing sites) X monthly searches = KEI (Keyword Effectiveness Indicator). If your KEI is 100 or greater, then that’s a niche you can hope to make some money in.

Finally, you’re ready to dive into those forums dedicated to the niche you’re after and get into the heads of your future customers. Do a search on Google: niche + forum. If you can’t find a forum, drop that niche and move on. If you do, get inside and start looking around. If the forum seems to be comprised of people who have no money to spend – kids, college students, people on unemployment – on to the next!

Keep an eye peeled for hot button words, like “problem”, “solution”, “how do I…?”, “where do I go…?”, “issue with…”, “I wish I had…” and so on. Read the sticky posts, read the posts that have the most replies. Find out what the people talk about the most, what they need, want, and wish they knew where to go to get. Maybe it’s just information – see what kinds of questions they’re asking, go research the answers, and put them in a little ebook you can sell them for $7. Participate in the forum if you can be at all helpful – it’s OK to have a link to your site in your signature, but don’t point it out. Get to be known as a source of help and information first – win their trust. The business will follow.

That’s basically it. Find the niche, check if it’s viable, find out what they’re looking for, and either build a site around an existing product or create your own. Then market the living daylights out of it.

If you think you are too poor or too busy to succeed with a home-based business on the Internet, here are some tips to help you save time and money to invest in your online business.

Most people have never stopped to analyze how they spend their time and money and would be shocked if they realized how much of each commodity they wasted every week of their lives.

The problem is that people often lack a clear focus in their lives. So the first key to finding the time and money you need for your Internet business is to find your sense of purpose and focus on it. Napoleon Hill called this sense of purpose a BURNING DESIRE.

What is it that you truly want?

What is it that causes you to want to start a business working from home on the Internet?.

Whatever it is, make it a concrete, visible, tangible BURNING DESIRE and that will give you the focus you need to cut out time and money wasting habits and invest that saved time and money in your online business.

Now, let’s take a look at some of the key time wasting NON-ESSENTIAL activities that many people are addicted to, often simply because they have not developed a BURNING DESIRE to achieve anything more positive in their lives.

First and foremost, television must be the chief time-waster in many people’s lives.

Actually, there is nothing wrong with television in itself. It is the way people spend hours of their lives in unplanned TV viewing that is the problem. So if you cannot or do not want to cut the goggle box out of your life, at least plan and ration your viewing time. Use the TV guide to plan your viewing and look out for programs that will inform and educate you.

Now, here are some other activities that you will want to ration, cut back on or eradicate from your life altogether in order to save time and money for your Internet business:

spectator sports; socializing with negative-minded types who can drain you of your self-belief; telephone conversations, email and online chat; surfing the Internet with no clear purpose in mind; newspapers and magazines; gambling and lotteries; smoking; drinking (both alcohol and beverages – cut out those long coffee breaks); expensive cars; cinema; clubbing; fashion and vanity; long baths; long dinners; restaurants; bars; DVDs; expensive holidays; impulse purchases and window shopping expeditions; searching for bargains on eBay…

Perhaps as you read through the list and came to activities that you enjoy you found yourself making an excuse for them… Just remember the old saying, “No pain, no gain”!

You don’t (really) have to become a hermit who spends all day working on the Internet with just a couple of ten minute breaks for bread and water. But if you do want to succeed online and are operating with limited time and money, then you will need to decide where your priorities lie and act accordingly.

One final point is to see yourself not so much as giving up stuff, but as REPLACING a non-productive activity that eats into your precious time and money with a new, positive activity that is both fun and productive.

Yes, Internet marketing IS a lot of fun. If you are willing to save time and money on other pursuits in order to invest in your online business you will build new friendships and associations as you make contact on the Internet with mentors, fellow marketers, and a growing network of customers and affiliates.

Really, it is up to you what you really want to do with your life, your time and your money.

Don’t let anyone fool you that making money online is easy, there is always some work involved. If that doesn’t faze you then here is some advice about what to look for and what to avoid. If you are bothered about doing some work then go no further and enjoy what you have.

For those who belive that they could make some money online, then read on for some useful tips.

Much of the stuff that you see advertised is quite sound but very seldom do you actually get the basics, and then ALL the steps needed to actually start earning. It can be quite daunting. So you need to start making some decisions about what you want to achieve and plan out your own road map.

Remember the old saying ” “if you fail to plan, you plan to fail”? Well by following the maxim, you will straighten your mind, and clearly see where you want to go. You will be able to determine those opportunities that fit your plan and discard the rest, you will save lots of money!

Okay so lets look at a few things to watch out for.

1/ Be cautious about such statements as, “Guru x made $10,453 overnight”, last week, last weekend or whatever. They probably did but not how you see it! You are extremely unlikely to get that sort of income from scratch. “Guru x” has been doing their thing for a long time and probably has developed a huge lists of potential clients, with whom they have built up a relationship. They will have bought from the “Guru” before and be happy to buy again and feel that they can trust them. Now did you see some clues here?

a/ “long time”, 12 months or more usually.
b/ “developed huge lists”, often in the tens of thousands.
c/ “built up a relationship” 12 months or more again.
d/ “feel that they can trust them” Why would you buy from someone you don’t know?

None of this is impossible but it takes time and effort, so you must set your sights on achievable goals.

2/ The sort of claims for example; “Make money in your PJs”, “make money overnight”, yes these once again are feasible but similar to the claims above they take time to get to that level of income.

3/ Look out for “ready made websites”, “plug and play websites”, they are often misleading, so stay clear. You have to remember that a lot of people will have the same sites and although the internet is so vast that probably doesn’t matter too much, you will get lost against people who have more experience. You will end up frustrated and out of pocket.

4/ Many of the opportunities you get sent are too advanced, for the beginner, or newbie. These mostly assume that you have experience and success. Read them very carefully to see if that is the case for you. One of the most useful things to assess the quality of the offer and the support you may or may not get, is to email the sender (who might be an affiliate) or the address on the website if there is one; and ask the questions you want answered. If you get a decent reply then you can decide what to do, no reply means don’t buy it, unless you really think it’s OK.

5/ A safeguard in the early stages is to buy through “Clickbank” as you can always easily get a refund, if it isn’t what you want, so a strong tip there. Not all websites have full details on and that isn’t unreasonable otherwise they would be spending a lot of their time on often unnecessary correspondence as reading through their text most of the information is already there. So use “Clickbank.com” for your early purchases.

6/ Don’t look for the ads that say, “Email 1,000s a day”, “Get your site onto 10,000s of search engines overnight”, nothing is that simple, you need your research to establish what you want to do. Affiliate marketing is probably one of the easiest and cheapest ways to start. This is simply acting as an agent recommending other people’s products, which can be an eBook, a car, or anything you can find actually! There are several sites to find items you can sell as an affiliate, just search for “affiliate sites” on “Google.com”. “Clickbank” will be found there and is free to set up as an affiliate.

7/ A good way of getting started is to look for a quality and affordable membership site that offers to lead you through the “jungle”, preferably with affiliate sites. Again beware of the proposal and make sure it is what you need. At the least they should mention the words “guide” or “blueprint”, which indicates that there is a series of steps that you can follow and a contact or help support)desk if you get lost.

8/ The next stage when you have done your research is to start taking ACTION, nothing will work if you don’t do anything. We are all guilty of this lapse and the idea of setting up your plan earlier is to help you make the effort to follow through.

9/ If when you follow your plan and you see its not working, review it see if you can do better and if not stop it and start something else again with a written down plan.

10/ If it works, become an expert at it and follow the same guidelines and repeat the exercise again as many times as you need to make an income and you will find it works. Remember failure is only a step towards success!

So what do we have here? Research and plan your means of developing an online business. Checkout potential partners (products) thoroughly, monitor what you are doing until it becomes successful and then repeat the exercise.
Good Luck!

Experienced Internet marketers know that online business and marketing forums can be an incredible source of information and insight. They can also be a goldmine for networking and prospecting.

One great advantage of online marketing forums is that they generally draw a good cross section of members, from the marketing newcomer to the experienced. Additionally, popular forums tend to attract members with a wide variety of business interests and backgrounds.

You can use these advantages to the benefit of your Internet marketing business.

First, join online forums to gain valuable marketing knowledge and insight:

- Find out what products, programs and services are currently popular.

- Learn more about tried and true methods of marketing and advertising.

- Get recommendations on preferred marketing tools and resources.

- Ask experienced members the marketing questions you can’t get answered elsewhere.

- Ask for opinions or feedback on your planned marketing materials or advertising campaigns.

Second, join online forums to network with other business people and Internet marketers:

- Develop partnerships to joint venture with each other or cross-promote each other’s products or services. This could lead to additional connections and introductions through their network that may also benefit your business.

- Form a feedback alliance where you review and evaluate each other’s marketing materials, advertising, websites, ebooks, etc. This can help improve your materials and your marketing efforts.

- Expand your circle of influence so you have a higher quality network of leaders informing you first when new products or resources come available and to whom you can return the courtesy.

Third, join online forums to casually prospect for customers:

- Blatant advertising and outright prospecting are not typically tolerated in most forums. You need to build respect as an active, participating, contributing member. Your aim is to develop a reputation as a trusted source for information and resources in your particular niche.

- The best way to build your image and reputation is by posting thoughtful, respectful, helpful comments in response to posts by other forum members. Offer insight and advice based on personal experience or education.

- Look for opportunities to start new topic threads. If you start a thread that is meaningful and relevant to forum members, they will be motivated to post comments in the thread. Every time they do, your thread goes back to the top and that helps to keep your name in front of other forum members.

- Finally, take advantage of the opportunity to include a signature with your forum posts. Your signature is one more way to advertise and promote your Internet marketing business. Most forums allow you to include a few links to sites of your choice, such as your website, blog page or a sales page.

As mentioned, online business and marketing forums can be information, networking and prospecting goldmines, but you do need to follow the rules and become a respected member of the forum. Approach forums with the right attitude and you will find the experience to be incredibly rewarding.

Anyone who has an online business will know the importance of a consistent flow of visitors to their website. Without traffic, your website will not be seen by anyone and will not result in any sales.

When it comes to free traffic, search engine optimization (SEO) is the main strategy to tackle. You want to get your site ranked on the first page of the search results for terms that you are targeting. Having a good ranking for a select few highly searched terms can bring you loads of free traffic but technically, the traffic is not free. You have to put a lot of effort into link building, optimizing your site, etc. This takes time and as the saying goes, time is money.

For this article, we will focus instead on paid sources of traffic. This is the fastest way you can generate a lot of traffic to test your sales page for conversions. The most effective paid traffic is that generated through pay-per-click (PPC) platforms such as Google AdWords, Yahoo Search Marketing and Microsoft adCenter. These three platforms get the lion’s share of PPC traffic so you should focus on them. Master them and you will be on your way to creating streams of traffic on demand.

It is important, however, to be constantly testing new sources of paid traffic. Social media advertising is another option to advertise your business. MySpace and Facebook have recently launched their own self-service advertising platform. With the ability to target a certain demographic that corresponds to your business, you may see some high conversion numbers. There are a large number of social media and social networking sites that you can test.

Media buying through banner networks is another option. Most of these companies have easy-to-use platforms where you can easily upload your banner to create an ad campaign. Then you can specify your ad budget and also target the categories of sites you want your ad to appear on. Alternatively, you can also approach individual site owners to advertise on their sites. Think of sites that your prospective customers tend to visit, such as forums or blogs.

As you branch out to other traffic sources, be sure to keep track of the results of your tests. After a period of testing, gather all the data and analyze them to make a decision whether the traffic is profitable. If it is not, drop it and move on to the next traffic source.

Another thing you can do is to set aside a portion of your profits for the purpose of testing. This is akin to reinvesting your profits to grow your business. Having a disciplined approach to continuously increase the traffic to your site will reap massive benefits in the long run.

There are many network marketing books on the market today. Everyone seems to have their own opinions on how to build a successful mlm business.

There is one book which seems to lay the “real deal” on the table, especially when it comes to how to evaluate an opportunity and how distributors are really paid in this industry. With all the hype that is out there, this was a fresh and unique approach. If you are ready to find out how all of this works, read on!

Everyone has seen things such as this:

-It will all be done for you.
-Our system will recruit for you and your group will be built by “spillover”
-Instant downline system

The truth it, anyone who believes statements like these and joins an opportunity, most likely will not be successful. Why? Because with any business, including mlm, one must WORK at it. There is no such thing as something being handed to you on a silver platter. If one doesn’t want to do the work, why even start a business?

So, in order to avoid being taken in by hype, you must learn how to carefully evaluate an opportunity. How? By following this 5 step formula.

Tip #1: Ask yourself, “Does the compensation plan work with the numbers? You see, in mlm, virtually any successful networker will tell you that most of their income comes from 2-3 people in their group. Therefore, the compensation plan needs to be set up so that you are paid well even if you don’t recruit a lot of people. There should be an ample retail profit as well. Making 5-7% on a wholesale price will get you nowhere fast. Think about Wal-Mart. How long would they be in business if they only made 5-7% profit on their wholesale prices? Not long! It’s the same with mlm. People must be paid well. Making 40% on the retail price would be a lot better right?

Tip #2: Ask yourself, “Can the average part-timer build and prosper”? The reality is that most of your team will be part-time people only. If they cannot get into profit quickly, have to jump through many hoops to get paid, have to worry about losing their downline if they don’t recruit a certain number of people in am month, etc., you will be constantly building.

Tip #3: Does the company’s pay plan work for the average recruiting numbers? In the network marketing book that I read, it stated that the average mlm industry statistics for sponsoring people is 2.7. In other words, most distributors only sponsor 3 people in their home based business career. Now, if distributors are taught only how to constantly sell and close people with no type of relationship building first, the revolving door will never stop. No one wants to worry about having to constantly re-sell and close their people every month to get them to do any work! So, make sure that pay plan works well even if a person is not a sponsor super star. Make sure your training is always built around relationship building first.

Tip #3: Ask yourself, “Does the company have a product that people will buy even with no compensation plan? Many people seem to feel that they have to fall in love with a product first and then sell it to people. In reality, it’s the other way around. There needs to be a hot and hungry mob of people who rave about a product. So, you market the product to them! You don’ have to absolutely love it yourself; just offer it to people who want it. Just focus on the people and the market, and choose a company with a product that everyone wants and you will be fine.

Tip #4: Before joining ANY opportunity, ask yourself, “Does the company management have experience in network marketing?” Being a CEO of a big fortune 500 company who decides to start a mlm company because he or she heard there is good money in it doesn’t count. Get past the smoke, mirrors, and hype and do your research logically. All you have to do is go to Google and put in the company’s owners name around quotes. Then, carefully read about the leadership. If there are many negatives and red flags, their company is one you run from.

Tip #5: Ask yourself, “Does the company have a system in place”? If so, make sure it is proven and duplicatable. A system is not making a list of friends and family and buying leads. A system is not one in which only the top 1% of the distributors can work successfully. It needs to be so simple a child could do it! It should be so simple you can teach it to anyone who joins your team and they in turn can become successful using it. So, make sure there is such a system in place.

This network marketing book presented things very clearly. The information was such that it will help anyone carefully evaluate a mlm opportunity easily. So, make sure you follow these 5 tips before making a decision. You will be glad you did!
